University of North Georgia
Our Relationship
The University of North Georgia has been a client of Conditioned Air Systems for more than a decade. From maintenance of existing systems, to installation and repair of units across UNG’s campuses, CAS has been there.
Evaporator Coil Leaks
A common issue for any HVAC system are evaporator coil leaks. Drains can easily get clogged, condensation pans simply rust with time, or the coils corrode when formic acid accumulates on the coil. This last factor happens frequently in Georgia due to our humid conditions. Formic acid accumulates as a result of water, copper and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs for short) that are commonly found in indoor air. In commercial HVAC, these units usually only last between 10 and 15 years.
An HVAC Solution
Recently, one of the evaporator coils at UNG’s Dahlonega campus needed to be replaced. Our team did just that, renting a crane to both remove the old coil and install the new evaporator coil on top of an existing building. We were able to do the entire installation in a single day, limiting down time for the unit and ensuring comfort for all students, faculty and staff as soon as possible.
