Our mission at Conditioned Air Systems is to provide our customers with unparalleled home comfort. That means more to us than simply understanding every aspect of HVAC technology – it also means providing the absolute best in customer service. That’s why we take as much pride in repairing any air conditioner or heating problem as we do in installing the latest home comfort system. That’s also why we’ll work on ANY heating or cooling unit, whether we installed or not, or whether it’s made by one of the industry-leading brands which we carry.
It is also why we train our technicians on a wide range of residential HVAC technology – new and old. Our leadership emphasizes a customer-oriented approach, so that we can handle any job and leave our customers happy and contented.
Use This Checklist First
When your home’s HVAC stops kicking out the comforting air you’re used to, there is a quick checklist to be mindful of – one that can save a call to a professional or a visit from a technician. In fact, we find that many malfunctioning AC and heating units can be cured by these easy fixes:
Thermostat
If your AC is not supplying cold air, make sure your thermostat is set to “cooling” phase and make the temperature lower than your home’s current temperature reading. Allow a few minutes to determine results. The reverse goes for a furnace. Make sure the temperature is set above the reading on your thermostat.
Power
Both the thermostat and your AC units have their own power sources. If the thermostat does not respond, make sure it has fresh batteries. If so, check the switch at your air handler to see that it has not been turned off (it will be located on or near the unit, which is inside your home). You also need to check your circuit breakers/fuses to ensure they are not tripped/burned out. Also be sure to check the circuit breakers/fuses on the compressor outside your house.
Air Filter
A clogged filter restricts airflow and can prevent cool air from circulating through your home. It could also cause your HVAC system’s coils to freeze. If it is dirty, replace it with a new one that meets your manufacturer’s requirements.
While there are more steps you could undertake, that’s where our team at Conditioned Air Systems can assist you in your repair. We’ll check for things such as refrigerant leaks, a malfunctioning AC circuit board, capacitor, thermostat, or fan motor, but those fixes require more than a cursory knowledge of an air conditioning unit.
Time to Call a Pro
If simple, do-it-yourself fixes don’t correct your residential air conditioning (AC), heat pump, or furnace repair needs, it’s probably a good idea to call a professional.
