How to know when to call your local HVAC company

1. 1. How old is my HVAC system? On average furnaces last 15-20 years, heat pumps 16 years and air conditioning units 10-15 years. Thermostats often last much longer but are often replaced before that as technology improves. And all those numbers are for properly-serviced and maintained units.
